What is a VPN and do I need one?

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network technology that creates a secure network connection over a public network such as the Internet or a private network owned by a service provider.

Why You Should Stay Away From Free / budget VPN Providers:
It is very enticing to chose a Free/budget VPN over a Paid one. However this is one thing you don’t want to skimp on. The reason being is that you need to be able to trust your VPN Provider. When you use a free or budget service, there is no value in trust between you. Essentially when you pay for a VPN Service you aren’t only buying the underlying network of Servers and their encryption. You are also buying their trust that they will keep all of your information private and safe.

So what is the difference? Why should you pay for something that some offer for free? The big number one reason is you have no way of trusting them. While there are legitimate Free/budget  VPN Providers out there. You could easily be downloading a virus or connecting to a malicious VPN of some sort.
